As always, I'm open to the possibility of merging my resources with a new startup, or existing social entertainment venue. Arizona, Texas, and some areas of Florida are of particular interest at this point, as they're diverse in social demographic and also exhibit a strong tourism component. Other U.S. based locations would certainly be considered as well. My background is quite extensive, so opportunities that go well beyond the classic little dance room/ lounge are obviously preferred.
Type and size of venue:
Venue size could be 6,000, up to 30,000 square feet. The size really matters not, however the concept 'must' be focused on the 25, to 35 and up middleclass demographic. Most of all, it must have the ability to well out perform the average venue in terms of cash flow performance -something I can certainly help the 'right' project with. Working with out-of-the-box thinkers /individuals would certainly be my preference, as opposed to the legacy mom and pop way of approaching the equation :-)
A strong team is an absolute must:
Success and high profitability doesn't come from one mans idea, but rather the collectives resources of a well structured team. From my perspective, the players are more important than the concept itself. A strong team can be the difference between a 6,500 SF venue that achieves 2-million in yearly sales, and that same venue trickling out nothing more than $750,000 with the 'wrong' players onboard. The bottom line is this: Success and high profitability is based on the amount of raw "brain power" behind the concept and ongoing operation -not how great your rooms looks.
New nightclub/ bar startups:At this point, I'm only interested in projects that have made it to the "stage 2" development process, which means your funding is 'secured' and you're headed for the "stage 3" build out. If your concept is above average and targeted at the middleclass, to upscale 25, to 35-aged demographic, my extensive background may be a powerful asset to your team. Existing nightclubs or bars are certainly of interest if:
You have the potential for strong growth You want to capture a broader demographic You're considering a re-concept of the venue Your market encompasses a strong middleclass, to upper middleclass demographic in the 25, to 35 and up age range. While existing venues are not always as easy as new startups in terms of getting a concept 'off on the right foot', they're not a complete write off. It also depends on factors such as how long they've been open, size of room, entertainment format, and whether or not any PR nightmares have occurred in the past six months. Unfortunately, some of these can cause devastating damage to a clubs image, and well beyond the likes of anything I can possibly salvage. The addition/ integration of a nightly entertainment component into one of the above is something I'd be 'very" interested in, as most of them attract a 'prime' consumer to begin with.
